Our Programs

A.  National Advocacy and Campaigns

This program focuses on campaign advocacy on agrarian reform implementation, anti-GATT-WTO policies, coconut levy recovery and coconut industry development.  This also entails networking and linkaging with other organizations and initiatives that support the struggle of small coconut farmers and farmworkers.  This also coordinates various local advocacy and campaign initiatives into a national campaign.

B.  Capability Building and Leadership Formation

This program support the provincial chapters in equipping local leaders the skills and knowledge in organizing, campaign, project development and management, farm system development, paralegal formation and other modules that will strengthen their capacities and capabilities.   This also links-up with other farmer-support NGOs that provide training services.  Local organizations also set-up their own training program which compliment the national efforts.

C.  Socio-Economic Development

This is being implemented now in the provinces of Aklan, Lanao del Norte and Misamis Oriental.  The focus of these projects is agricultural productivity (sustainable agriculture and food security), coconut product development and village-level coconut enterprises.   Other provincial chapters are undergoing social preparations for this program.

D.     Rural Democratization

This program is being implemented at the local level through membership to the different Local Special Bodies of the Local Government Units (barangay and municipal) by KAMMPIL local chapters to influence ordinances and development programs.

Local chapters are also actively engaged in local elections to acquire seats in the barangay and municipal Sangunian (Councils).

KAMMPIL chapters also actively participated in the Party-List Election.  In 1998 and in KAMMPIL supported AKBAYAN (Citizens Action Party), however local chapters are free to support other parties they deemed supportive to the struggle of the small coconut farmers and farmworkers. In fact, last 2001 and 2004 party-list election some KAMMPIL chapters supported other progressive parties, such as BAYAN MUNA, SANLAKAS and AMIN.
